Amidst the coronavirus lockdown smartphone giants OnePlus as well as Apple launched their new phones as oneplus 8 and Apple SE 2020 respectively and Apple surprised everyone by their new launch in a very surprising price segment and trust me don't go for the looks of the iPhone as the new phone is a beast inside.
Here I will compare both of the phones in a detailed manner and help u decide which one to go for,
Looks and Design:
Both of the phones have their own unique branding design. While Apple comes with an old iPhone 8 kind of design with a basic layout: big top-and-bottom bezels on the front, with a Touch ID fingerprint reader below. Volume buttons and a silence switch on the left, with a lock button on the right.
OnePlus, on the other hand, comes with a sleek and stylish look which gives you feels of a flagship smartphone, including the waterfall display edges, with pinched sides that make it easier to handle, it is equipped with a 20:9 ratio display, the phone is easier to hold than its size (160.2mm x 72.9mm x 8 mm) would suggest. Plus, its 180g weight is lighter than most competitors.
OnePlus 8 comes with a 6.55-inch AMOLED display which is sharp, bright, and perfect for a gamer or a movie buff. Equipped with FHD+ resolution (2400 x 1080) which won’t disappoint – and as claimed 1300 nits of brightness, it even shows details even in direct sunlight.
The iPhone SE 2020 comes with a much smaller 4.7-inch IPS LCD display, exactly as same as iPhone 8. If you liked it in the iPhone 8, you’ll like it here –SE misses out on the deep blacks and other colors and variations of AMOLED screens.
OnePlus 8 has varied camera settings. It has a 48MP main shooter that can shoot in 12MP mode which combines four pixels in one and allows the phone to click in more light. OnePlus 8 also has a 16MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro camera for up-close photography. It also has a sufficient 16MP front-facing camera.
The iPhone SE 2020 again here has the same 12MP rear camera and 7MP front-facing camera as the iPhone 8 but thanks to the software advances and computation inside the A13 Bionic chip, with the help of this both the rear and selfie shots can be done in portrait mode.
The OnePlus 8 packs a leading Snapdragon 865 chipset, and either 8GB of RAM or 12GB of RAM, OnePlus 8 is 5G-capable, supporting sub-6 frequencies.
The iPhone SE 2020 is packed with A13 Bionic chip which makes it a fierce competitor and a very serious contender for best mid-range phone out there, A13 chipset is the same processor which fits inside iPhone 11 which costs way more than SE.
iPhone SE 2020 has 1,821mAh battery the same as the iPhone 8, the phone comes with 5W Lightning chargers that come in old iPhone boxes, although the phone is compatible with 18W charger which is sold separately which Apple claims will recharge the iPhone SE 2020 to 50% charge in 30 min. It also supports wireless charging.
The OnePlus 8 comes with a much larger 4,300mAh battery and uses the WarpCharge 30T charger which comes in-box for 30W charging, which can charge to 90% in just under an hour.
Both phones are priced around Rs 42,000 in basic variants.
My opinion on this is both are amazing phones even though OnePlus beats iPhone in many aspects iPhone stands tall in its own terms.OnePlus is a proper flagship phone and on the other hand, SE 2020 is for an upgrade for those people who are using iPhone 6,7,8 and need an affordable upgrade with A13 Bionic chip being its highlight.
